Lurkers

Some interestingamusing things I've learned about my recent blog visitors from my new-ish Statcounter:

  • many of them revisit one specific entry over and over again on an almost daily basis, even on their Blackberry. Did they forget what it said and went back to reread it for the 400th time?
  • one person tries to access my page over and over again, almost on a daily basis, even though I blocked their IP address. (I have blocked a couple people). They search the blog title in google and try to read it from the cache. My guess is that it doesn't get them very far?
  • some of them are really bad at French. They type in stuff like "le plume..." into google. Actually, it's "la plume." Plume is feminine, not masculine. And the articles sound different.
  • one of them is really creepy, and typed "the author of la plume assassine" into Google and wound up back at my blog. Ewww... what do you really need to know about me personally that isn't already available on this blog?!
  • one of them sits in their Applied Physics lab at a prestigious university and leaves my page open for 4 hours. Procrastination at its finest? I never would have thought that my dumb rants would be more interesting than your physics course, but hey...
  • Many of them surf while at work. Getting paid to read my bullshit, haha.
