Historic victory for equal rights

On August 4th 2010, a federal judge in San Francisco declared Prop 8 UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

I've been thinking about this for the past few days because I'm letting it all soak in.

Apparently, there will be an appeal of this decision, and this means that the case could move all the way up to the United States Supreme Court. I'm hoping that prop 8 will be continually struck down by higher courts. This would make it unconstitutional for other states to claim that they will only recognize marriage "between a man and a woman" (this is as I understand it; correct me if I'm wrong), essentially legalizing same-sex marriages across the US. Awesome!
